The Music Department offers a variety of programs for the students.  Starting at the elementary level, music is offered from K3-5th grade.   Basic music reading skills and music theory is taught.  Students study compositions through works like Tchaikovsky’s The Nutcracker or Prokofiev’s Peter and the Wolf.   Students also learn about the great composers in story form; Beethoven and Mozart are a favorite among children.

Band and chorus are offered as electives for grades middle and high school students.

In December, we have a tremendous Christmas Production each year with all elementary students participating.

For students participating in the private lesson program, there is a Christmas and spring recital every year, and students perform their favorite piece exhibiting their accomplishments for the year.  

No prior music knowledge is required. OCA offers piano, voice, violin, and cello lessons.
